Quenya is Tolkien's "High Elvish" language, which was inspired by Finnish. In his fictional world, Quenya was originally spoken by a tribe of elves called the Vanyar. In Peter Jackson's films, Quenya was used for magical purposes like Arwen summoning the floodwaters when being chased by the Ringwraiths.
